Tomislav Lauc

Professor Tomislav Lauc graduated from the School of Dental Medicine in Zagreb in 1997, and the following year he enrolled in the postgraduate study programme of orthodontics at the School of Dental Medicine in Zagreb and a postgraduate study programme of anthropology at the Faculty of Science in Zagreb. He received his master’s and doctoral degrees in anthropology and orthodontics and passed the specialist exam in orthodontics in 2005.

He teaches at the Department of Anthropology at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb, at the School of Dental Medicine in Zagreb, and is a visiting professor at the School of Dental Medicine in Sarajevo.

He is the president of the Croatian Society of Orthodontics of the Croatian Medical Association and a member of the Central Board of the European Academy of Dento-Maxillo-Facial-Radiology. He is a guest member of the most renowned orthodontic society, the Angle Society of Europe, as well as the American Association of Orthodontists.

He is the editor-in-chief of the international scientific journal South European Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Research (SEJODR) and a reviewer and editorial board member of several scientific journals. He is the author of 30 original research papers and review articles in international scientific journals and 50 conference papers.

He is the president or a member of 45 organizational or scientific committees of international scientific or professional conferences. He is a co-author of 6 science books. He has won several scientific awards including the prestigious international Ambassador of Excellence Award and the American Dahlberg Award. He is a court-appointed expert witness in the field of dentistry.

In addition to orthodontics, he specialized in the field of implantology, which he teaches at the Specialist Study Programme of Dental Implantology at the School of Dental Medicine in Zagreb, treatment of TMJ disorders, bioregenerative surgery, 3D diagnostics and aesthetic rehabilitation, which are also the topics of his work and specialization.

Unfailing strength, work and dedication, enthusiasm, diligence, and at the same time humanity, empathy and sensitivity towards patients make him a true pacesetter. He is also a constant role model, support and guide for all co-workers who are proud to be members of his team.
