Assoc. Prof. Prim. Dr. Sc. Tomislav Lauc is the director of Apolonija Dental Polyclinic. He graduated in 1997 from the Faculty of Dental Medicine in Zagreb, and the following year enrolled in postgraduate studies in orthodontics at the Faculty of Dental Medicine in Zagreb and in anthropology at the Faculty of Science and Mathematics in Zagreb. He obtained his master’s and doctoral degrees in orthodontics, and passed the specialist exam in orthodontics in 2006. year. At Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania in 2023 he obtained the title of Master in Business of Orthodontics. He is a permanent court expert in the field of dentistry. The Ministry of Health recognized him as Primarius 2024. year.
He teaches the Dental Anthropology course at the Department of Anthropology at the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb, and the course 3D diagnostic methods in dental implatology at the postgraduate study at the Faculty of Dentistry in Zagreb.
He is the President of the Croatian Society of Orthodontists (HLZ) and a member of the specialization board of the European Academy of Dento-Maxillo-Facial-Radiology. Since 2025, he has been a member of the most renowned orthodontic society, the Angle Society of Europe (ASE), as the only orthodontist from Croatia, the American Association of Orthodontists, and a number of international professional societies. He was a member of the Supervisory Board of the Croatian Medical Association (HLZ) and the Executive Board of the Croatian Dental Society (HSD).
He is the author of 35 original scientific and review papers in international scientific journals and 55 conference proceedings. He is the co-author of 6 scientific books. He is a member of editorial boards and reviewer of several scientific journals. He was the president or member of 45 organizational or scientific committees of international scientific or professional conferences.
He has been awarded several scientific prizes, including the prestigious international Ambassador of Excellence award and the American Dahlberg Award. In 2022, he received Recognition from the University of Zagreb for exceptional contribution to the development of Dental Anthropology in Croatia.
In his clinical work, in addition to orthodontics, he has specialized in the areas of implantology, treatment of temporomandibular joint disorders, bioregenerative surgery, 3D diagnostics, and functional-aesthetic rehabilitation, which are also the subject of his work and specialty.
His inexhaustible strength, work and dedication, enthusiasm, diligence, and at the same time his humanity, empathy and sensitivity towards patients always move him at least one step ahead of his time. All of this simultaneously makes him an inexhaustible role model, support and guide for all of us, his associates who are proud members of his team.
